The Corps relies solely on residents who volunteer their time to keep the ambulance in continual service. Without volunteers, there would be no MVAC!

As you near the comletion of your classroom training, you will begin your training on the ambulance as an observer with other, more experienced members. As you begin to become confident in your skills you will be given the opportunity to be the "Tech In Charge" under the watchful eyes of the Training Officer and Captain. As you prove yourself and your dedication you will be given more responsibility until you are able to handle and aided case yourself.

What are my responsibilities to the MVAC as a member?
All members are required to serve a MINIMUM of 36 hours or three tours each month. These tours can be arranged days, evenings or weekends. While on duty members can remain at their homes or within the vicinity of our service area. Members are also expected to respond to calls at other times when available. Remember, we are expected to respond in the coldest chill of winter, the hottest day of summer, in the middle of the night, on Thanksgiving Day; when you decide to become a member to the MVAC , you are dedicating yourself to serve your fellow citizen regardless of the time of day or time of year.
